Steve Swenson

June 26, 1949 - October 22, 2002

Steven Lynn Swenson of Logan passed away on October 22, 2002 of natural causes.  Steve was born in Logan on June 26, 1949 to Dan H. and Doris Findlay Swenson.

He graduated from Logan High School in 1968 and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life.

He served a two-year mission for the church from 1969-1971 where he labored among Native Americans in Arizona.  There he learned to love the Navajo people and culture, collecting and displaying many of their crafts and artifacts in his home.

Steve also served proudly for two years in the U.S. Army, traveling to Germany and returning with several beautiful wall clocks.  The majority of his working years were spent at Utah State University where he was part of the custodial staff in the Physical Plant department. Steve was a dependable and hard-working employee for over 20 years until a disability prevented him from continuing. His supervisors and colleagues regarded him as a friend and someone who could be counted on to get the job done.

Steve loved the outdoors and nature, especially camping, Dutch oven cooking and fly-fishing.  He became proficient at tying his own flies and shared a love of landscape photography with his father. Together they shot many beautiful photographs in Logan Canyon and other scenic areas across the United States.

Steve was buried in the Logan Cemetery.
