Brad MacPherson

May 28, 1950 - November 19, 2007

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and best friend unexpectedly passed away November 19, 2007.

Brad was born to Nelda Kidd and Donald Earl MacPherson in Ashton, ID, on May 28, 1950. His childhood was spent in Logan, Utah, where he graduated from Logan High School. He grew up walking in his father's footsteps learning from him the value of hard work, service, and humility. As a young man his cherished faith motivated him to serve an honorable LDS mission in Ohio and Nauvoo, Illinois. Through a dear missionary companion, Steven Johnson, he met the future love of his life, Marilee Johnson. Upon returning home they courted while attending BYU and later married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 26, 1974.

Brad was a hard worker and recently celebrated 30 years working with IBM as a Technical Solutions Manager. He was also a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various positions including: home teacher, Primary teacher, High Priest group leader, Sunday School counselor, Young Men's president, and as a Bishop while living in Boca Raton, Florida.

More important than all else was his family. As the proud father of four boys, they eagerly followed in his every footstep. Together they had a love for fishing, camping, four-wheeling, golfing, operating a Ham Radio, and hiking. His legacy will be the way he served others whether it was hanging Christmas lights for a widowed neighbor, assembling toys for the grandchildren, tending to the needs of the sick, or fixing anything broken. Brad seemed to have a soft answer for everything and never spoke ill of anyone. He followed in the Savior's footsteps and we, as a family, hope to honor him by following in his.

Brad is survived by his devoted wife Marilee; sons, James E. (Jenessa), Christopher L. (Leah), Brady (Janelle), Ryan S.; his treasured grandchildren Jameson, Ammon, Maggie, Isaac, Asher, and Heber; his mother Nelda; siblings Donna (Bill) Nelson, Debbie (Brent) Buckner, Doug (Jane), Curt (Wanda); his father and mother in-law Leland and Marion Johnson; brother in-law Steven (Collete) Johnson. His father Donald Earl MacPherson preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Sunset LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 82 N. Dixie Dr., St. George, UT. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery. We Love You - my Sweetheart, our Dad, and our Papa!
