Mike Bronson

Michael Lynn Bronson, 46, died Thursday, March 13, 1997 in Preston.  He was born May 30, 1950 in Logan, the son of Theron Lynn and Josephine Baker Bronson.  He married Eloise King on June 8, 1973 in the Logan LDS Temple. 


He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the office of an Elder. He served as Cub Scout leader, Primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, Ward Music Director, Ward Financial Clerk and Stake Young Men's Secretary. 


He was raised in Tremonton and Logan.  He graduated from Logan High School in 1968. He was active in theater arts and school plays.  He enjoyed singing and participated in the Chauntaires and high school musicals.  


After high school he joined the Navy and served as a radioman on board the USS Seattle (AOE-3) in both the Atlantic and the Pacific fleets. He worked at Cache Valley Dairy, Mode O' Day and Presto Products, where he was employed until his automobile accident in November of 1977.  In the spring of 1980 Mike went back to school in a wheelchair. He graduated in 1986 from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in Social Work.  


Mike had lots of friends.  He enjoyed people and worked with young people as a tutor and substitute teacher in the Preston School District.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  Through his life he loved the outdoors.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, basketball, football, softball and any activities his friends and family were involved in. 


He is survived by his wife of Fairview; three daughters, Alicia, Emily and Ashlynn, also of Fairview; his mother and stepfather, Josephine and Doyle S. Olson; five brothers and two sisters, Douglas Lee Bronson, Mrs. Barry (Lynda) Labrum, Sheldon Duane and Rhonda Olson, Cecilia Smith, Rolan Doyle and Stephani Olson, Courtney and Dale Olson, and Ryan Paul Olson.  He was preceded in death by his father, Theron Lynn Bronson, and a brother, Jody Darin Olson.  


Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, 1997, at 1 p.m. in the Fairview 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Gary Smith conducting.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 pm and from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday at the Fairview Church.  Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Preston School District to help children with learning disabilities.
